In this family board game, kids embark on an exciting journey of self-discovery, and in the midsts of all the fun, they'll uncover life skills to overcome perfectionism.
Players must move along the mountain trail and reach the top before the Perfection Goblin gets there!
Five sets of cards feature different categories that allow kids to reflect on different scenarios with teachable moments that promote a growth mindset and emphasize making progress instead of focusing on being perfect.
What are the categories?
The game includes thought-provoking situations encouraging kids to engage in conversations about their thought processes and problem-solving skills, describing different approaches in the following categories:
Effort: Put in the work, even if it takes time and it seems like you're not reaching your goal fast enough.
Strategy: Make a plan, seek out new knowledge, and break big goals down into smaller chunks.
Flexibility: If an approach isn't working or an outcome isn't what you hoped, switch it up and try again.
Sharing: Turn to your friends and family for support and advice, and don't be shy about sharing your frustrations.
What Would You Do?: Decide how you would approach a given scenario and share it with the rest of the players, be open to feedback.
At the end of the game, kids get to display their Mount Progress score sheet poster to remind them of all the ways they can focus on making progress instead of focusing on being perfect.
This is a fantastic way to shine a light on perfectionistic behavior with constructive ways to approach life with confidence.
