The booklet was easy for the kids to read and understand. I think it could use a little more detail regarding the failures rather than just generalizing that some of them were rejected from a job or lost a game.
Great life lessons
We are using these stories in three ways. The fist is their intended use, teaching my son about the growth mindset way of thinking. The second way is to practice his reading skills and the third is his comprehension skill. He reads the profil to me and then must write a summary of the profile, as well as answer questions that I have written for him.
My 9yo daughter found this very interesting to read (so did I) She only knew some of the people like Serina Williams, Lady Ga Ga and JK Rowlings but once she realised they had interesting stories to tell she was very invested in learning about the others and how the succeeded against adversity.
Famous Failures Rock!
A fantastic, inspiring resource... should be part of the curriculum!
Awesome for the Classroom
Students in my classroom love learning about people in history who have made mistakes yet became successful. The passages are one page and the pictures give students a visual to go with the story. Our favorites so far have been Michael Jordan and Milton Hershey.
